Adopt a flood victim and gain a pet for life
One of the most devestating things that can happen to a family is a flood. It devestates the home, changes lives, and sometimes unfortunately takes loved ones away. This is true of every member of the family including those most often the least able to say anything, our beloved pets.
Recently many pets have been seperated from their families in the floods that have blasted the mid-west. And there have been some that have taken special efforts to help out. Like the Humane Society at Kirkwood Community College which has housed 700 homeless animals. There is also the efforts of the Washington Animal Rescue League which has housed many former pets now in D.C.
But while these groups and others have done as well as possible in providing help to those in need, they have limits. If you are willing to help and provide a good home for some of these pets there is a way for you to be involved.
